WHAT'S ON this MAY HALF TERM

Beetle Bank Open Farm hosts a vibrant calendar of activities and events perfect for families looking for memorable days out near York. Whether it’s a school holiday, a weekend treat, or a special occasion, there’s always something exciting happening on the farm.

Come join us every day from Monday 26th May to Friday 30th May 2026 during the May half term school holidays. We're open on tuesday on this week too.

Yes — activities take place daily, though some experiences may rotate depending on animal needs and weather.

 We recommend booking online, but tickets are also available on the door (subject to availability).

If its a bit wet bring your Wellies and warm layers are strongly recommended on a windy day — it’s April on the farm!

 Yes! Animal feed is available from the Beetle Bank Reception Desk when you arrive.

Absolutely. Activities are designed for a wide age range, and under-2s go free.

Woody & Wild Discoveries

10:30am – 12:30pm: Woody's Here! Reach for the sky — everyone's favourite cowboy is riding into the farm to meet his favourite deputies. Smiles and selfies guaranteed. 2:00pm: Gem Panning Become a real-life explorer! Grab a tray, sift through the water, and wash away the sand to reveal hidden treasures — sparkling gems, "gold," and even tiny dinosaurs.

Entry costs less than £10 per person for a full all-day visit, making it one of the most affordable family days out near York. There are no extra charges for access to the animals, outdoor play areas, or general activities.

Yes! Purchase a bag of feed at the entrance and say hello to our friendly goats, sheep and alpacas.
The farm also has indoor facilities including an activity room and café, making it suitable for visits in most weather conditions. If there's rain remember to bring your wellies and suitable waterproof clothes. If the ground outside becomes waterlogged the adventure playfround area may be closed for everyones safety.
Yes - we have designated spaces for our Birthday party packages which are available with animal encounters and catering options. Enquire via the website for availability and pricing that will match your budget.
